Lily and Marlo were in a rough period when Addysin was born. The two were fighting constantly, and it didn't help that Lily was pregnant during the time. It wasn't uncommon for them to get physical in their fights, as both were known to be fierce people which often caused many of their clashes. In more than one instance, Marlo would hit her stomach possibly risking the baby's health, but luckily Addysin came out with no defects, at least none that they knew.
August 1st ceased their fighting for the first time in weeks, and the face of their infant son was enough to bring the couple together in peace. The two had no idea that their future quarrels would disrupt their newborn son's sleep schedule so much he would develop a sleeping disorder.
As their fighting rekindled, they began fighting so often and so loud that they would disturb Addysin's sleep, causing him to be extremely cranky and rarely sleep for long periods of time. This continued to be a problem until Addysin's parents finally decided to file a divorce. After some unknown incident, something involving a car crash, Marlo immediately terminated the divorce deal, realizing he wouldn't be able to live with himself if something happened to Lily and he wasn't there to protect her.
After that they rarely fought and began to pay more attention to their kids, using them as one of the reasons they needed to stick together to get through this life. Around when Addysin turned six, they began to notice odd things about Addysin's sleep schedule. He had been found multiple times to stay up late, yet never fall tired. When he did sleep, it was a random times that wouldn't logically make sense for a six year old. Sometimes he reported seeing odd things that weren't there, hallucinations, which began happening weekly.
Sometimes he would just freeze against his will and be stuck in the same position for sometimes hours. His mother quickly became concerned and took him to a physical therapist who later diagnosed him with narcolepsy. As Addysin grew, he struggled in school and social events because of his unpredictable disorder. He tried his best to keep awake, but he found it almost virtually impossible. When his body wanted to sleep, it wanted to sleep whether he put in his input or not.
It was yet nearing the time where his parents would explain his heritage and the world of Elementrium before they would send him there to attend the Academy. At first Addysin thought it was possibly another hallucination and consider telling his actual parents they were beginning to get more serious, but then he realized these were his actual parents telling him that his birthright gave him the ability to control the air.
Addysin's first year at the Academy turned out uneventful, but he loved it anyway. His teachers were aware of his disorders and tried to make it as easy as they could to help him learn. The second year and the ones following after didn't tend to hold much drama besides the occasional drama and bully story. Addysin began developing a more calm demeanor and took a more relaxed approached to life, making him who he is now.
