Sam gripped a piece of paper in his hands as he trudged up to the gates, staring hard and cold at it as the memories of the Academy flooded his senses. He stopped and looked up at the gates, letting everything overwhelm him for a few seconds before he blinked and it faded away. Then, he noticed a pale girl, standing by the gates. He walked up to her, curious about her unwell appearance.
She was playing around with the necklace she was wearing, trying to gather the physical energy to walk to her dorm room - which hadn't been touched in ages. She had braided her hair so that it did not contribute to how much she was sweating. As she breathed, she clutched her chest. She did not notice the boy walking towards her.
"Are you alright?" he asked. "You look really pale. You should head to the infirmary, or get some Advil or something. I don't actually know if you have a headache, that's just a guess and I sound stupid right now, don't I? Just rambling, ha."
"Actually, yes!" He slung his bag over his shoulder and dug around in the side pocket before pulling out a bottle of Advil. "I just bought this an hour ago, but I don't need it so you can have it if you need it."
He sucked in his breath. "Ouch. Well, you should be glad. Pretty sure Thor is too busy protecting Asgard from complete destruction to come whack you upside the head so you don't have anything serious to worry about."
"It would be nice to have subjects again, but just like Princess Leia in The Force Awakens, I've gone through a metamorphosis." As soon as she said that, Anneline was surprised with herself. "He really has turned me into a nerd."
"An acquaintance." She responded, not wanting to tell him about Jack - since he was still a stranger. All of sudden, the pain that Anneline had forgotten about returned. "Looks like I'm gonna have to go to the infirmary after all."
Anneline smirked. "I bet you were a "the floor is lava, don't step on it" type of kid. Anyway, I know this is weird of a stranger like me to ask but wanna sit with me in the infirmary? Do you have any lessons?"
"Fair enough." Sam began walking towards the infirmary, folding the paper he was holding and quickly stuffing it into his pocket before he began to talk again. "So, I never got a name. I'm Sam, Sam Byun."
