She shook her head in protest. "Oh no, your not interrupting anything." Diana voiced before reaching for the cup in his hand, her hands slightly tingling while they touched Liam's. "Thanks by the way... i actually needed something to drink." After taking the cup Diana moved aside and gestured into her room. "Wanna come in?"
His eyes dropped to gaze at her fingers, a jolt of electricity racing through him, before looking back up to her, his smile growing bigger, "if you don't mind." With that, he walked into the room, gazing around, "you've kept your room a lot cleaner than I have."
Diana let her eye roam around the room before letting the land on Liam again. "I guess i don't wanna mess up a room that's not even mine." She shrugged, going to sit on her bed and patting the empty area next to her - inviting Liam to join her.
She shrugged before closing the book and setting it on the nightstand next to her bed. "Just a book on some of the local history... there isn't much to do while we wait for Elle and the others to come back." Diana answered him while running a hand through her hair, attempting to move it away from her face but it did the exact opposite - instead a strand of her hair just fell back into her face.
He paused, thinking it over, before shrugging, "I don't know, really. Not many people are asking about it, not into much detail, you know?" He asked, before continuing, "I feel like everyone's kind of...skirting around me, worried I'll snap if they press me."
"We're not going to succeed that way," he pointed out, "I tried doing that, tried bringing them down on my own and I spectacularly failed. We're only humans, and humans work better in packs. Bit like wolves, really."
A light smile formed on her face as she hear his words. "Actually were not just humans... were elementals." Diana pointed out, of course she was only messing around and not taking it seriously. "I do agree though, if we're going to get through this quest we should start working together."
"All of us, cut into little pairs, you and I, Roger and Eliza, Elle and Julian and then Miquel and Erraline, not a pair, just...hanging around, I guess. I keep thinking why the advisor chose you guys. What made any of you so special that he wanted us to be in a group."
He broke into a grin, "sorry," he said, "probably not a very interesting topic." He paused before saying, "you know, I don't think I'd have the balls to do what you did. Go after Elle. I feel like she'd be the type to slit your throat if you did something that interfered with her plans."
"I suppose not," he breathed out, struggling to think of a conversation, "do you miss the academy?" He asked, personally he hadn't spent much time there to miss it. But he had spent a lot of his life in not so favourable environments, academy seemed pretty good in comparison.
Upon hearing his words, Diana began to think. Did she miss the academy? Sure, it was better than being here but, she didnt have much at the academy either. "I guess i do, it was a lot safer than here." She smiled before bouncing the question back at him. "What about you? Do you miss the academy?"
"I wasn't there that long," he said with a shrug, "I was shipped there but then shipped out again. It's hard to miss something you don't really know," he said rubbing the back of his neck before conceding, "I miss the idea of it."
Yes Diana had been at the academy for a while but, she could understand what Liam meant. Diana had made such little friends, none at all really, so being at the academy didn't really mean anything to her. She went to class, lunarbucks, the library, and her dorm - that's about it. "I see, perhaps we can change that once we get back." Diana smiled, trying to break the awkwardness between them that she was sure both of them could feel.
Diana was taken a bit by surprise when she heard Liam's words. Why was he apologizing? "It's alright." her grin melted down to only a soft reassuring smile. "If i'm being honest, this group could use someone like you... a Leader." With this Diana's place a hand gently on Liam's, trying to reassure him that everything was alright. Of course, this action only made Diana feel even more nervous than she already was - trying her best not to show it.
She wasn't sure if she wanted to or not, she was rather enjoying her time with Liam. Since getting here the two hadn't had much time together and Diana didn't like that one bit. "If you want to." She answered him with a small smile.
Diana felt relieved when she heard his response, maybe he want to spend as much time with her like she did with him. This cause the Lunar duchess to break out into a small grin. "I'm sure they are." She responded before standing up, looking down at Liam once she did so. "Hey... I was wondering" Diana's grin slowly faded away and it was obvious she was nervous about something. "I was wondering if you could teach me some things on the piano. I've always wanted to learn and well you know how to so..."
His attempt to make her laugh was a success. A small chuckle escaped her lips before she looked up and saw Liam now standing at the door. "Great." She smiled, walking out the room and heading for the room they had been in the other day.
"It was, the violin was my parent personal favorite though so natural they forced me to focused on that." She quickly came up with the lie, something she had gotten used to. Of course Diana knew nothing of music since she wasn't raised as a duchess, far from it actually.
She slightly winced once hearing the violin was one of his favorite instruments. Of course she knew some things about it but she it was mainly a lie she had come up with to make her past more believable. "Sure thing." She said, hoping there wasn't a violin in the room. Lucky for her, there wasn't and a small weight lifted off her shoulders as she walked in.
He went instantly to the piano, now covered in a cloth, he pulled it off, the white flowing into the air as he pulled, creating a 'fwsh' sound. He folded it into a neat square, laying it on a table before sliding the lid open. "There's a better acoustic if I lift the lid up," he said, as if he were apologising then opened the lid to the keys and tapped on a note. "It's in tune."
Diana followed him to the piano, letting out a small sneeze caused from the dust flying off the sheet. It wasn't much but it was enough to see them flouting in the rays of light coming from the window and enough to cause the duchess to sneeze. "That's great." She answered, following his actions and hitting one of the notes with her index finger.
He slid in next to her, not meaning to but her perfume entered his nose and he exhaled. White chocolate. After years of not having any, chocolate was always something he treasured nowadays. "Here," he said, trying to ignore it, and touched the "c" key with his thumb and with the other hand, he tapped the "c" below for her to place her hand there.
She playfully pushed him with her shoulder, a light giggle escaping her lips. "Just keep teaching me..." Diana stated before grabbing his hand and placing it on the keys, almost as if she were demanding him to continue teacher her however, it was only meant as a joke. When she touched his hand though, like many times before, a spark was sent through her body. For a moment she left her hand on his but, not wanting to make the situation akward she slowly removed it and gave him a short smile. "Whats next?" Diana asked, looking towards the keys and hoping he hadn't noticed.
