She was in a clothes shop, a rip off of H&M if anyone asked her but, of course, no one knew what H&M was so, Charlie guessed the owners could get away with it. But, she supposed she shouldn't complain, it meant it was a lot easier for Charlie to get her hands on the clothes since her house arrest damaged her ability to go shopping in Earth. Or should she say academy arrest? She flicked a jumper across the rack, looking at the next one. She wore a pair of large sunglasses, trying to hide her face but she was slightly sad about it as she did a damn good job on her makeup. Oh well, she could show off her new red lipstick.
Lux strutted into the same store as the other girl, a pair of sun glasses that matched the other females. Once in the store she lifted the up onto her head and her eyes scanned the store. "This is the only close to H&M so guess it will do..." She muttered to herself before walking to one of the clothes racks, the one Charlie just to happened to be at.
Her ears pricked at the word and she glanced up to watch the little blonde and mentally cursed. Bloody hell, she thought no one would have those sunglasses. They were expensive and Earthy. She gave her a run down, her eyes unseen due to the said object before turning back to the rack, trying to ignore her.
Despite Charlie's eye being covered by the glasses, Lux could in a way, feel her eye on her. It didn't really matter to Lux, she was only here to shop and that was it. "Oh this is nice... don't think mom would like it very much though.." She muttered before putting the shirt back onto the rack.
She glanced over again, with a raised eyebrow, "I agree, I don't think mother's would be too interested in a dress like that. Gives off way too much of the ass area. Breasts too. Unless your mother's a milf, of course," she mused, "are you sure you're in the right shop? This is more teenage clothing not maternal clothes."
Lux raised an eyebrow at the girl, the fact that she even talked to lux giving her a weird feeling. "I meant my mother wouldn't like this much on myself, as you said it show to much ass and boobs." She responded while looking the girl over and noticing the glasses covering her eyes. No way a poor person could afford those... she thought to herself before giving the girl a soft smile. "And no i'm not in the right store, i prefer the actual H&M than so cheap knock off store."
She smirked at the comment, "in a town like this? You get what you can," she replied with a one sided shrug before looking at the dress again, "you should buy it. It would suit you..." she trailed off as she looked Lux again, "much better than what you have on. You're an A cup, aren't you? Yeah, the dress should accentuate the body you have. Make it look bigger. The colour would bring out your eyes too."
She gave out a half-hearted laugh before pushing past the dress onto different clothing. "As if i didn't already know that..." She answered without looking towards Charlie, instead looking through the clothes. "My mother isn't very supportive of my buying things that would suit me." Lux added on before turning her head slightly to glance at Charlie. "She'd probably have me wearing pant suits if i didn't have at least a little say."
She looked at the girl before pulling the glasses off, taping them on the metal, with a soft smile, "sorry, I'm being rude, aren't I? I've been told I can be a little bit...blunt at times. And really...it's more like working with what you've got. I couldn't pull that dress off like you could. Why sulk about not being able to make a cake when you make killer pancakes."
Lux turned towards Charlie once again. "I've been told the same thing...." She responded before once again going back to looking through the clothes. "Besides it's not like i really care for the opinions of a complete stranger." Lux added before coming across a shirt that looked like her mother would aprrove of and also something she might like.
She eyed her, "you certainly care about the opinion of your mother," she pointed out, rather dryly. On one hand she could relate, because if her mother ordered her to do something, she'd probably do it herself but on the other hand...no.
"My mother isn't a complete stranger now is she?" With this Lux took the shirt and continued swiping through the clothes. "Do you plan on looking at clothes by the way? I only ask because that is what one usually does when at a clothing store." Sure it may have sounded rude and hey, maybe it was meant to be but, Lux didn't exactly like some random girl pointing out everything she had already been insecure about.
"Lux..." She answered shortl before turning towards the other girl. "And i know who you are, your the missing duchess... the one on all the tabloids." Lux had finally recognized her and it hadn't really phased her. "If you ask me, they made a bigger deal over it than they should have... then again you didn't really ask me so whatever" a fake smile came across her looked at Charlie.
She thought about it for a moment before speaking up. "Charlie is kinda boring too, don't you think?" Lux voiced, almost as if she were actually asking. Instead of waiting for an answer though she continued talk. "I mean a lot of Charlotte's go by Charlie so, if you think about it... A Charlotte going by her true name would be much more interesting."
She whithered slightly, "not when people only call you Charlotte when you've broken rules. Other variation would be 'lottie' and that's...just terrible. Plus there are a thousand charlottes in the academy but I am the only Charlie. Maybe it's different n Earth but isn't that common a nickname here."
"Well, if i'm being honest, I've already met a few Charlotte's that go by Charlie here so i guess it is sorta common." She admitted with a short pause. "I guess it really doesn't matter though since it's not the name the makes a person interesting, it's the person behind the name that does.
Lux was taken by surprise at Charlie's sudden action, looking at the peice of clothing handing in front of her. "Why?" Lux asked curiously. "I'm not one of your maids so if your asking me to stand here and hold your stuff while you shop then sorry but, No"
She examined the clothing dangling in front of her for a few moments, liking them but, would her mother approve? "Thanks for the offer but..." For a minute Lux couldn't think of an excuse, She didn't want to once again mention that her mother wouldn't like them. "I couldn't ask you to do that, especially when i have my own money." She finally spoke up.
She didn't look at Lux, continuing her search for clothes, moving from rack to rack, "i will tell you why I will be bying them. You see, if you buy them, you will have no obliation or moral conscious to wear them but, since I spent money on them, you hopefully will wear them out of guilt. It works more for you than me, by the way. I don't gain anything so don't complain, just go with it." She found another piece, holding it out for her. "PLus, our mother can't punish you for something she doesn't know about. All of this goes on my card, she'll never know."
Lux didn't know what to say. No one had ever offered to buy her things, it was always the other way around except Lux hadn't been offering. People were always taking advantage of her wealth. "Ummm, ok..." Was all she could muster out as she followed Charlie. "If your not gaining anything from this then why do it?" She asked, following behind the elemental.
"Because if I were to have any positive impact on this world, let it be on good fashion. Really, my sister's just as bad as you, maybe even worse, and she's frequently rebuffing me so please, let me vent my frustrations surrounding her on you."
Lux thought about it for a moment, watching Charlie as she went through the racks of clothing. "Fine, but i'm gonna pay you back somehow..." She responded before caving in and grabbing the piece the duchess had been dangling before. "This is pretty cute." Lux smiled.
"Of course it is," she replied, taking out another piece before shoving it back in with a grimace, "so tell me about yourself. I'm assuming you're new?" She asked, looking over at her, trying to see if she recognized her.
She nodded. "I am, barely got to the academy a few days ago." She answered. "Lux Anna Archibald is my full name and that's about all there is to know about me." She paused while watching Charlie go through the clothes.
"Lala use to be my favourite tellie tubby, you know? When I was a kid," she commented before glancing at the dress, "you think? Well, it's cute," she conceded offering it out to her again. "How are you with shoes?"
