NOticing how it was something serious, she arched her signature haughty eyebrow, "Before you even get to ask," she paused for a second, "The baby is fine. I haven't drunk any alcohol lately, I promise."
He rubbed a hand over his face before giving her a soft smile, "I wasn't going to ask," he replied before moving his hand to move through his hair. He needed a hair cut. "You're keeping it, aren't you?"
"Are you sure that's what you want?" He asked, stepping back, placing his arms in the pockets of his jeans, "because if you want a normal life I won't stop you. I get it, I get I might be a one night stand that you suddenly have a connection with. A living connection. I don't want to be someone who wants every string attached to you."
His wording fazed her, as she'd used the same words to describe him yesterday. She didn't make any gesture or expression to show, this though, but she took a mental note to be wary, "Of course I want that. You know I want to be with you," she then took her hands off him and avoided his gaze, "Unless it's not what you want, of course."
"I don't know," he replied, "I think the party life is something that draws me back once more. The lack of strings. Sounds-" He stopped himself. He was being petty. "My point is, you flirted with Deneris. Heavily. So I'm saying if you want to be with him, that's fine. I don't want to tie you down." He was being sincere.
She blinked twice and wanted to burst ito laughter, but contained herself from doing so, as she knew it'd be rude to do that to Chris when he was being so honest with her. "Oh my gosh, Chris. I do not like Deneris. Sure, he's attractive and an actually really good person to be rich, but I'm just not drawn into him like I am into you. Yes, I flirted, but he's always been flirty with me. It's a sort of inside joke. If it makes you uncomfortable, then I can always tell him to stop and I will, too. But you have to understand that I have always been very flirtatious. It doesn't mean that I'm into anyone, it's just how I can get to be."
"Well, maybe, I doubt it," he breathed out, looking at the hands, "Charlie's god knows where and Christie's spending her time looking for her. Doubt either of them would have the motivation to do that."
She thought about it for a second, and immediately, her mind came to Alexander, "What about Alexander? That little manwhore has contacts everywhere, and he was yesterday at the café where I was talking to Jax."
"Oh," she started, but then continued, having actually been offended by that act of his, "Still, you met me and thought I was a slut, so that makes sense, too." But this time, she didn't actually mean it, and she turned around to avoid her boyfriend's gaze.
"Sue me, I have insecurities," he replied with a lopsided grin, "and I spent so long trying to live by the rules after being the one to make them, you know? I had a moral dilemma when I met you but...I was just insecure."
"Oh please." She finally managed to look him in the eyes, "I get you're insecure and couldn't believe thst I like you. But don't lie to me and say you 'worshipped me' like I was a good person. Look st me in the eyes and tell me you didn't think I was what everybody claimed: the easy and sleazy duchess."
She snickered, "And... do you take it?" She cocked her head to the side and smiled mischievously. "That could explain why the stash at your place grew so quickly,"
