How long had it been since Clara and Evan spoke? Days? Weeks? Clara wasn't exactly sure but, she could never stay mad at her cousin forever or let him stay angry at her - which was the case right now. It was early in the morning and Clara decided to go looking or her cousin. It took her a few tries but, she ended up finding him at the football field - Leaning against a wall and watching him run around the track. It wasn't until Evan came around to where Clara was that she spoke up. "You're a hard guy to find you know..."
"Do you think that wasn't the first place i tried?" She asked while crossing her arms. "And don't think i don't know you were thinking of ignoring me." Clara stated, pushing herself off the wall with little force and walking over to her cousin. "Now, how long are you gonna stay mad at me for?"
He bit back a groan as he ran faster, his legs were sore but he was tired. He didn't want to deal with this. Plus, he was still a little bit mad at her. He knew it wouldn't really phase her, she was probably a lot faster than him.
Clara rolled her eyes as she began joggin after him, catching up was too much of a hassle. "So, i get you angry one time and you go and replace me with someone else huh?" She smirked while saying this, having spotted Evan with some new guy some days ago. "He's cute, maybe a possible love intrest?" Clara asked while looking at Evan, running along side him.
"Well i couldn't possible leave my cousin after seeing him with a new best friend... Call me jealous." She smiled before taking a soft pause. "Now how long are you gonna keep running for? we both no you'll get tired soon anyways."
"I just started, I'll be good for a while," he sniffed, "and you could join us. I'm sure he'll like a new girlfriend. See, we're both straight and you're definitely Jasper's type." He didn't really know Jasper's type at all, he wasn't even sure if he was straight. But he'll take a guess.
She examined his face and shirt for a few seconds before smirking. "Thats not what your sweat covered shirt says." She answered before looking forward once more. "and anyways, i wouldn't wanna steal your man away from you."
Clara glanced at him from the corner of her eyes. "I'm just teasing you idiot... now are you gonna be mad at me forever?" She asked, starting to get angry herself. "Because i need to know if i have to find a new cousin or not."
He stopped to stare at her back before following her, "just like that? You give up? Jesus, I thought you knew me. I was joking, you fool. I just don't see why I should let you back in if you're going to leave me in a few months."
Clara gave a soft smirk while looking forward. "I do know you..." She answered while walking. "Which is why i stormed off, i knew you wouldn't just let me leave." She smiled. "And i'm not leaving you idiot... not if it means you'll be this angry with me."
Clara glanced at Evan before softly rolling her eyes. "No i'm not.. i never was." She answered before stopping. "It was just thinking about it... of course now knowing how angry you would get, i can't."
He glanced away, "it's not even leaving that angered me..." he whispered, "I don't mind leaving. If you wanted to leave, I'd follow you without hesitating. Hell, if you actually did leave without me, I'd follow you anyway. Creepy as it is...that idea of not being with you...it's like tearing away half of my soul. We're a team, we always have been. And it...hit me, pretty hard, how casually you thought about ditching me."
Clara looked down to the ground a bit ashamed, not because the idea was so easy for her but, because she had hurt her cousin just thinking about it. "It wasn't something i decided right on the spot you know..." She said in a soft tone, crossing her arms to keep herself warm from the cold breeze that began to blow. "I'm not leaving though, neither of us are..." Clara paused after saying this, letting the idea settle before she continued. "I won't give everyone the satisfaction of getting rid of us so easily." With this, Clara's gaze lifted from the ground up to Evan, a small smirk placed on her lips.
"Well then..." Clara stopped walking, her body now turning in the direction of Evan. "You wish is my command." She said suddenly, a grin shown on her face as she gave added in a playful bow. "But can your wish be something fun? I can already imagine you saying something like.... I order you to watch all the star wars movies." Clara voiced, the end of her sentence being said in an imitating voice of Evan's. "Something nerdy like that."
Her eye brows raised as she heard the words escape his mouth. "Paintballing? Really?" She asked with a curious and confused tone. "And here I thought football was the only type of activity you like to do." She answered. "Paintballing does sound fun though, so if your offering then... i'm accepting."
Clara frowned, pretending to be hurt by Evan's words. "You think i'm ugly?" She asked before wiping away a fake tear. "Besides, football is the only thing you can really win me at... try me at anything hand-to-hand and well see who come out on top." She chuckled.
