It had been weeks since a certain Water duke named, Jasper Reeves, had come out of his room. While he did come out for the essential, Jasper didn't come out for much else. Life at the Academy was growing boring for him and in all honesty, he had considered just leaving - not that anyone would really notice. Now because of some meeting all the dukes and duchesses had to attend, the water elemental was making his way through the empty halls - his hands shoved into his pocket and his head hung low.
Alice eccentrically made her way through the halls, excited about the progress she's made recently with her research. She wandered down the halls, humming to herself. Honestly, she spotted Jasper down the hall much later before she decided it was appropriate to approach him. She'd seen him in her Water class and he didn't seem to be particularly too interested in anything. He actually seemed to be quite passive about everything. "Hey Jasper," she greeted him, stopping in front of him to talk.
Because his gaze was fixed on the floor, Jasper hadn't noticed Alice until it was almost to late. Lucky for the Water duke he spotted her legs and was able to stop inches away. "Oh umm hey... Alice?" He answered, saying her name a bit hesitantly as he was unsure if he was right about it or not. "Sorry, i'm bad with names." Jasper admitted before rubbing the back of his neck with his right hand nervously.
"If we're going, to be honest, I had a negative one out of ten chance of getting your name right so we're even," she beamed. "And yeah, it's Alice." She shifted a little, "You seem like you're going somewhere. Where are you going?"
She laughed a little along with him. "Well, if there's a small chance they don't take your head, you could hang out with me. If anyone comes by I'll say you went for a swim. Off the side of a cliff. Into the ocean."
His lips slightly curved up on one side, before looking around. "Sure why not, Not like a was gonna pay attention to anything they were gonna say anyways." Jasper answered, his gaze landing back on her and a full smile now shown on his lips. "Where did you wanna go?"
His shoulders moved in a shrugging motion, opening up his mouth to speak. "Sure, Lead the way." He said gesturing in the direction to the front of the school, where Jasper had suspected they'd be heading.
He nodded, his hands shoved into his pokets as he walked. "Sure, i'll go first." Jasper voiced before he began to think of a question. "What's your full name?" He asked, wanting to keep the questions light and easy - nothing to deep for now.
"Jasper Reeves... Not too complicated either." He answered before thinking of another questions. "Can you control any other elements?" Jasper asked, knowing Alice was in his water class but, not know if she took any other classes.
A picture of his older brother flashed in Jasper's mind as she asked the question. However, he didn't exactly feel like going into the detail of what happened to him. "Just one, a twin brother, you probably haven't seen him around though since he's traveling right now."
"My brother can be quiet the trickster, can probably act like me easily." Jasper thought about it for a moment. Everything about them was the same, they were identical after all. Then, an idea popped into his head. "Oh..." He voiced while raise his hand slightly, his palm facing up and his wrist showing. "You could always ask to look at our wrist, i'm the one with a scar on mine." Jasper pointed it out and sure enough, there was a scar running down his wrist, one that looked like the aftermath of a fail suicide attempt.
The scar was a thing of the past, he had moved on from it or, at least that's what he always told himself. "I'll tell you about it when it's your turn to ask a question." He smirked. "For now, it my turn... Is your hair naturally curly?"
She shrugged, deciding not to push on the subject. Alice began to snicker, her shoulders shaking from the laughter. "Is my hair... naturally curly?" she repeated. "Is my hair, naturally curly?" She paused to take a deep breath but couldn't stop laughing. "Yes, it's naturally curly," she replied, trying to calm herself.
Question from earlier? Jasper thought to himself, wondering what she was talking about - he was very forgetful like that. After a few moment of silence, the question popped back into his mind. "Oh you mean your question about the scar." He spoke up and showed it once more. "You know just the boring old failed suicide attempt." He smiled. While it may have sounded harsh to just blurt out, Jasper didn't care much about it. He had moved on from it or, so he kept telling himself everyday.
Barley being able to hear the Awkward, Jasper let it go. He didn't mean to make things awkward, she asked and he told her about it - He thought girls liked honest? "Hmmm..." He hummed as he thought of a question. "Oh, where are you from." He asked, knowing he could asked something dramatic but, for some reason he wanted to keep the mood light - especially after the last question.
"Brazil. I want to go back and visit, the place is truly beautiful... But the economy... not so much," she replied with a small shrug. Now to think of a question. Alice didn't have any to be completely honest, so it was time to make something random up. "If you could change your name what would you change it to?"
She stuck her tongue out playfully at him, lightly elbowing him in the shoulder. "I flooded an orphanage remember? I don't exactly trust my water powers. Alright, my turn... Um... huh. I'm stumped. Okay, okay, how about, what's your favorite Starbucks drink?"
"That's an easy one, Caramel frappuccino with extra caramel." The thought of the drink made him lick his lips and smile contently. "What about you? and please don't say your a tea person cause we cannot be friends if you are."
