He had just taken a break from the turntables, now sipping a glass of water, surveying the party with lazy eyes. He was leaning against the bar, his other hand slipping into his pocket. This part was a success, more people had come and his house was clogged with people. Unfortunately, he found that it was easier for assholes to get away with stuff.
Just as expected, Some asshole had tried to take advantage of Scarlet - being able to get away from him but now she was stumbling around the party. For the most part, Scarlet was able to walk along the wall but, somewhere along the line she moved away a bumped into a man leaning against the bar. "S-s-so S-sorry..." She voiced while struggling to stand upright.
The water spilled onto the ground, the plastic cup with it, and his reflexes instantly going up to hold her waist, trying to help her keep her balance. "Woah...are you okay?" He asked with a slanted grin, "too much to drink?"
If she hadn't been so out of it, Scarlet would have flinched at his touch - instead hold her head while trying to remember what happened. "N-no, I think someone slipped s-something in my drink..." She answered as the memories came back to her in short flashes.
His grin melted off his face and his grip tightened, "is that so?" He asked, his voice low and husky, with his eyes beginning to look for a security guard, "do you know that persons name? Or where he is?"
She shook her head, in the process growing dizzy and stumbling forward - closer towards Jax. "No i can't remember..." Scarlet paused , looking up towards him. "I think i just need to lie down, Is there somewhere i can go?"
He took one last look before hooking his arms under her legs, "of course," he replied, as he began to carry her towards the stairwell, shuffling through the crowd, muttering 'excuse me' when need be, "is there anyone i could call? Come with a friend?"
He grunted at the back of his throat, "rude," he scoffed, shivering slightly at the temperature of her skin but he tried not to breathe deeply, in case he bothered her. "Still, would she come, like, get you? If I called her?"
"Meh, don't mention it," he replied as he finally found the one room that was out of bounds. His room. He backed up some to lift his foot up, raising Scarlet slightly, to open the handle with his foot, hopping slightly to keep his own balance up. Finally, it swung open and he wandered in, flicking the switch with his elbow. Inside was a room practically bare, the bed was made, his schoolbooks tucked neatly on a white desk. The only thing that gave it away to be a bedroom was a discarded skate board.
It was nearly 11 am and everyone was gone, even the mess, and he was in the kitchen making breakfast, pancakes of course. He either switched between pancakes and waffles but today was pancake day. He was throwing rasberries and blueberries into it, whistling a tune.
Scarlet's eyes had slowly fluttered open as she shifted around in bed - a bed that wasn't hers. Upon opening her eyes fully, she'd notice that the room wasn't hers either which caused her to sit up in bed - her head pounding. "Ughhh... where am i?" She said out loud as she looked around the room, it wasn't much to take in. I took a few minutes but, finally Scarlet had made it out the room and to the kitchen where she heard whistling coming from. "Excuse me..." She voiced in a low timid tone.
He paused his whistling to look at her, his eyes, friendly but curious, looking over her face and he grinned. "Good morning," he said before shaking the pan, "I'm making pancakes if you want some. Made enough for five."
She had noticed the boy, not from last night but, from around the academy. His name was Jax Deneris and he was a lunar duke, somewhat of a relief. "Why am i here..." She asked still standing where she previously was and watching the boy.
He shrugged slightly, going back to the pancakes, flipping it. "Oh, well, you know..." He wasn't sure if telling her 'you were nearly put into a life scarring situation' was something you told someone before it was midday. "Got a bit....out of control, I guess. Wanted to sleep and since your friend ditched you, you stayed the night. I have some painkillers if your head hurts."
Scarlet remember some flashes from last night, like her being drugged but, she didn't remember Jax. She chose not to mention it though and decided to just sit, standing was just making her head hurt more. "That would be great, Thanks."
He smiled slightly, pulling out a box of it from his pocket, having already thought she'd most likely want it and threw it across the counter, spinning to a stop right infront of her. "No pancakes though? I make killer pancakes. Best ones in the academy."
She took the box in her hand and shook a few pills out. "Do you have any water i can take with these." Scarlet asked before standing up and walking over to his side. Those pancakes smell amazing she thought to herself while looking around for a a cup or a bottle of water.
He seems really nice The duchess thought to herself before pouring herself a glass of water and taking the pills. "I'm Scarlet by the way." She voiced, wiping away some of the water that had dripped down her chin. "Your jax right?"
She wasn't sure why but, she flinched at the wave of his fork - thinking he was gonna throw it for some reason. To avoid him asking any questions about it she nodded and giggled. "They are really good. do you like to cook? or just something you do when you have to eat."
"I had to learn to cook from a young age, my parents never made cooks a priority and plus, the ones we hired always cooked just for them and I would have to wait for the actual meals. So I taught myself how to do it. I don't really mind cooking. Just something I do."
"Sounds about right." Scarlet voiced, lying since her family didn't have any worker due to thing going on that her parent's wouldn't want anyone else to see. At the though of it her back began to hurt though, it was most likely just her in her head.
Her gaze fell from Jax to her plate as she thought of the question. "Guess i was just dragged here and maybe needed something to keep me busy." Scarlet didn't really know how to answer since she herself didn't even know why she came. She sorta just showed up.
Not that she wasn't enjoying herself but, Scarlet felt the need to head back to the academy. "On the subject of the dorms, i should probably start heading back to mine." She noted, while standing up. "Class starts soon and i need to shower." It was true, perhaps not as in foul body Oder but, she did reek of alcohol. It was then that she realized she didn't have a rid but, she wasn't going to ask Jax to help her - he had already done to much.
She didn't want to accept, she really didn't - mainly because she felt he had already helped her enough and also because she was still slightly afraid of him, like she is everyone. What if this is all part of a game, he builds my hopes up just to crash them down and kill me in the end? The thought replayed in Scarlet's mind before she pushed it aside and gave him a sheepish smile. "If you wouldn't mind. i didn't drive here and well... yeah" Scarlet grew silent, looking down to the ground afterwards.
He smiled at her, getting up, "nah, it's cool, I don't mind at all. I'd like the fresh air and all," he said, gesturing to the window, "have you had a shower or something? I can lend you a towel if you need it..."
"I don't have any extra clothes actually, just these ones and they kinda smell like alcohol." Scarlet replied with a small pause. "would really do any good to take a shower and use the same dirty clothes."
He gestured for her to follow him, "you can keep them, though, don't feel like you have to return them. And, uh, they don't smell of alcohol but they probably smell like me, I don't know if that makes you smell any better. That's up to you."
