How long had it been since the quest had ended? Hours, Days, Weeks? Julian couldn't tell as he lied down on his bed, looking up at the ceiling with a blank expression. His mind raced with memories of the Quest. From when the first arrive at the mansion, to the night he spent with Elle at the festival, and then the memory of Gabe came into his mind. It played over and over in his head and Julian couldn't stop it. "Get out of my Head!" He shouted before pushing himself up and rushing to his bathroom, splashing water on his face after he did so. It wasn't until he looked up into the mirror that he noticed Gabriel standing behind him. He stumbled while turning around, only to find no one there.
It was four am. She'd been in the library until midnight until Clarissa (she was on first-name basis with the librarian, of course) had to kick her out. Now she was in her room, at her desk, highlighting words from the textbook. It'd been three weeks and five days since the quest. And six hours. If you wanted to be exact. She was trying to ignore everything about it, including the people involved, and immersed herself in her work once more. School work was easy, familiar. She'd seen Liam in the halls, who always looked at her briefly, nodded sometimes, but they ignored each other. Good. She'd seen Julian, Diana, and sometimes Erraline, but always left quickly before they noticed. She'd actually switched classes just to make sure she wasn't anywhere near them.
He had been breathing hard, his heart racing and his eye wide. Why was Gabriel haunting him? The memories, along with the ones of his younger sister, where not keeping him up even later at night - making his insomnia worse and himself tired even more tired during the day. Elle... Julian suddenly thought to himself in the midst of all these memories. She was even worse than he was and still, when she wanted to kill herself, he tried to avoid her - thinking she was probably scared of him now. You never know unless you try though right? With that Julian made his way out his dorm and slowly made his way towards Elle's. It had taken him about half an hour but once getting there, he was lucky enough to run into someone who was just leaving. After asking where Elle's room was, Julian stood at the door and just waited - not even knocking.
Her highlighter dug into the page as she began to think of Julian, someone who still paused her swirling thoughts, made them pause and focus, before racing again. Her duration of the quest, how he rarely came, ignoring her, still made her blood boil. God she was angry. Hurt, angry, confused...hurt. Did he judge her? Did he think god, look at her, how weak. Can't she control herself? And people wondered why she never opened up, struggled to talk about herself. No one likes weak people. She threw the pen down, clanging onto the ground, as her emotions began to boil and ran a hand through her hair. She'd always been able to control them but now...it's like their jailer had gone on holiday, leaving the cell doors wide open.
His heart began to race again as he raise his fist up to the door, still keeping it from actually knocking. What if she didn't want to see him? Sure at first it was because of everything but now, what if she was angry at him for not coming? At some point, Julian decided to just leave and carlessly let his hand drop - accidently knocking on the door as he did so, which made him mentally facepalm. "Elle can i come in?" He called out from behind the door, having no choice now that he had already knocked. "It's me.... Julian" The princed said, wanting to make sure Elle knew it was him though he knew she probably picked up on it already, with how smart she was.
Nope. Nope. She did not want to see him. Yes, she was angry at him for not seeing her, but the time had passed for that opening and now did not want to see him. At all. She might have opened the door if he had come when she needed him but that was a month ago. Lucky she had used the table lamp and she flicked it off, hoping he hadn't noticed the light under the door. She doubted it. It was four am, most people were asleep and he could believe she was like a normal person. She stared at the door. Move on, Argent, move on.'
If she hadn't switch off the light then maybe Julian wouldn't have noticed it but, because she did the sudden flicker caught his eye. "Come on Elle open up, i know your awake in there." He called out once more, now determined for her to open the door or he'd open it himself. "We both no i can get in there no matter what so, might as well open the door." Julian noted while waiting. Please Elle...... I need you....
She shut her eyes briefly, acknowledging the weariness that was always nudging the back of her mind, before slipping out of her chair, treading to the door, jarring it oopen only slightly. She wore nothing but an oversized shirt with a bands logo on the front. She narrowed her eyes at him through the slit, "what? I'm trying to sleep," she said.
Without asking, he pushed on the door - which should have easily opened more with how weak Elle should have been from skipping meals. "H-how are you doing?" He asked, his eye fixed on hers as he waited for her to answer. God she hates me.... why am i even here, i'll probably make her more angry then she already is.... Julian thought to himself, at the same time seeing his little sister standing behind Elle. He blinked a few times before she faded away. "Sorry i haven't been coming lately..." The lunar added on before looking down, his eyes clearly showing dark circles under them.
She stumbled slightly as the door was forced open, receding her hold on it, and held her wrist and frowned at him, deciding to ignore his apology. A half hearted one, anyway. God, she wanted to date someone with extravegence for words, lovey dovey words with heartfelt announcement of their love. She'd been watching way too many rom coms and read to many romance books. "Are you drunk?" She asked instead, eyeing him with nothing but cool indifference, "you smell."
He ignored her words, knowing she was only acting this way out of anger. "I asked if you were OK... You should answer my questions instead of worrying about how i smell." He muttered before pushing past her completely and entering her room. He had never been in here before... it was nice. Made him feel safe. "Whatever... Have you been eating? Your looking skinnier..." Julian blurted out. It was his way of caring, even if it sounded harsh and uncaring.
"I've always been skinny. It's because we haven't seen each other in a while. People always think I look skinnier when they see me. But I haven't lost any weight. Benefit of being tall," she said, fiddling with her shirt, forgetting she wasn't wearing anything for a moment, and quickly dropped it before it revealed anything. "And I asked if you were drunk...maybe you should worry about yourself first before me, have you even picked up a razor?"
Julian turned around and swiftly made his way over to Elle, gently but also forcefully move her towards the door, closing it in the process and moving her up against it - each arm on either side of her now. "You are skinnier...you've been skipping meal, or else you would have had the strength to stop me from doing that..." Julian voiced, looking Elle straight in the eyes. "And besides, i can't worry about myself before worrying about you first." He pushed off the door and walked deeper into her room. "And to answer your question, no i'm not drunk and no, i haven't seen my razor in weeks."
As he trapped her against the wall, she leant in slightly, her nose directly parralel to his, a cm away, and smirked, "or maybe I didn't want to stop you," she replied, her voice slightly husky, and her eyes pointedly looked down to his lips before looking back to him. Slightly disappointed when he moved away, thinking sex would get her mind of things. Angry sex was supposedly the best. "Touch anything and I'll beat your ass, I can do it too..." she warned him, "and you should find it. Or at least try and tame it. You look a hobo."
Again he ignored her and walked around her room, picking up a book of hers despite her instructions. "You couldn't kill a fly even if you tried." He teased before setting the book down and look at her. "Don't you think it makes me look sexier?" Julian joked but, also wanted to see what she'd say.
"I can and you know it," she said, reaching for the book, "stop that, they're in a specific order," she growled, "and no, I like my men clean shaven. I don't like them looking like they live in the wild."
"Fine, then help me..." He shot back without looking at her. It wasn't until he started his next sentence that he looked back at her. "You have a razor in here somewhere right?" This was Julian's way of asking for help. It wasn't gonna get anymore wordy then that.
She frowned, "you want me to shave your whiskers off?" She asked, "I don't think a female razor is able to do that..." she trailed off, "it's blunter than a males."
"I'm sure whatever bathroom you use has a fresh men razor lying around." He answered before turning around fully and examining her. Even if she didn't want to admit it, Julian knew she had been skipping meals. She had done it in the first few week. Lucky Diana had convinced Elle to eat more but, without Diana constant survalence Elle was free to skip anything she wanted. "So, are you going to help me?"
She gazed back at him. "Don't," she sighed, "don't listen to me and my preference with men. I can't be bothered stealing some guys razor. If you like the beard, keep it." She actually quite liked the beard, thought it gave him an edge. Rough. Her type. "What do you want Julian? I was actually about to head to bed..." she trailed off, "and all you've done is talk about helping you shave."
"I-I need you Elle..." The words had slipped out of his mouth. He was so selfish to say that after he had basically ignored her when she needed him. "I need you to be ok... Is what i meant." Julian quickly added as he realized what he had said. "Everyone, including me are worried about you."
She raised a sharp eyebrow, "others? You talk to them? Didn't think you would keep in touch." She crossed her arms over her chest, quite physically closing herself from him. She didn't need him. She was okay. To her standards anyway. "You should stop worrying, Julian," she said in a critical tone, "I'm quite okay and I hate people worrying about me." More like pitying her. Bringing up the others made her heart twist. She missed them. Diana, Eliza, Roger, Erraline, Miquel...even that blonde idiot.
Julian's blood began to boil. Sure Elle was mad eat him but, did she have to me so harsh? He was only trying to make sure she was ok but still she was angry with him. Maybe it was the fact that Elle was mad at him that mad Julian so mad. "Your smart enough to realize by now Elle That i can't stop worrying about you." He shot back at her. "Whatever though, if you don't want me here then i'll just go." With that he stood up, hoping she would stop him, grab his arm, something. Something to show that it still wasn't to late because so far, Julian was thinking Elle would never forgive him.
She was tempted to let him go, so tempted, that she nearly did let him. At the last second she turned on her heel and grabbed his bicep, trying to make him turn around.
The feeling of her hand sent waves of electricity throughout his body, allowing her to turn him around. "...." His mouth opened to say something but nothing came out as he just gazed at Elle. "I just want you back to normal Elle... i don't want you to be afraid of me." He finally admitted.
"Get over yourself, Julian, I'm not scared of you," she pushed out, irritated he'd think of that. Did she look like someone who was afraid of a softie like him? Ha. She didn't reply to the earlier comment but gazed at his lips, leaning forward to press hers against his, her hand trailing up his arm, to cup his neck.
His eye had slightly widened at the feeling of her lips, not expecting it at all. Sure he wanted her to stop being angry but, he never suspected she would go and kiss him. It had taken him a few moments but finally his hand hung loosely around her waist and he began to kiss back.
She soon let her arms around him, pulling him closer, deepening the kiss. Her mind cleared, the fog dispercing, and her nails dug into his shirt.
HIs grip tightened as well but, not around her waist. Instead his grip tightened on the lower ends of her shirt, tugging at it - wanting to pull it off. His mind hand finally cleared, he wasn't seeing anything but Elle.
She pulled back when she felt his hands, her hands disappearing into his hair, leaning forward slightly to whisper in his ear, "I'm not wearing underneath it..." she trailed off, nipping at his ear lobe.
He couldn't hold back anymore. At the sound of her words Julian moved them towards the bed and lied down with her. Hovering over Elle while kissing her. "Elle...I need you" He finally said before tugging at the bottom of her shirt again, determined to pull it off this time.
She pulled it up and over her head, throwing it onto the ground, before going back to kiss him. I need you in me. She didn't say it out loud of course, but her hands began to go for his pants.
They had finally done it. Julian and Elle had finally kissed, hell they did a lot more than just kissed. Julian knew Elle was just using him though. She needed something to take her mind off of everything and Julian just needed her. Sure, for the time being Julian stopped seeing his sister and Gabriel but, that wasn't why had slept with Elle. He had been alone for far to long and needed some he could lean on. Hopfully, Elle will feel the same way soon. For now though, Julian lied down next to elle sleeping - for the first time in days.
She'd been exhausted and when they were done, and he'd settled down next to her, she nodded off pretty quickly. Her mind, clear for once, had influenced her subconscious and her sleep was dreamless.
The sun was now coming through her window though, threatening to wake the lunar prince up - which it did. He was a light sleeper like that. Julian's eye's slowly fluttered open and for a moment he was peaceful. "Your just like them now Ian." Suddenly though, the sound of his sister voice came from where Elle was supposed to be. Hesitantly, he turned his gaze and saw a bloody version of his younger sister lying next to him. Quickly Julian shot up and blinked a few time before his sister faded.
Her eyes shot up at the movement and she blinked at Julian, silent, her eyes widened as she sat up, completely naked, not saying anything as she remembered the nights events. She pursed her lips. Normally she'd ask 'bad dream?' but she didn't, instead she asked, "what time is it?"
Julian reached over Elle, his back muscles flexing and the blankets rolling off him slightly. Nothing major was visible beside maybe the line of his back side. "Eleven O'clock" He voiced before shifting fully off the bed, letting the covers slip completely off and exposing his bare body. "I should get going..." Julian stated while pulling his clothes on.
She gazed at him before rolling out of the bed, not bothering to cover herself up as she walked to her wardrobe. Without any clothes on, it was obvious she'd lost weight. Her ribs had began to show and her skin clung to her shoulder blades. It did make her back dimples more evident, though. "If you want," she breathed out, as she began to look for clothes.
His jeans were now while he turned his gaze towards Elle. He didn't take in the fact that she was naked in front of him, instead noticing the details that proved she had been skipping meals. "I knew you weren't eating... you should stop doing that." He voiced while walking up behind her and placing his hand on her shoulder. Julian rubbed his thumb to feel her bone before left his hand slide down her back to her ribs. "You need to start taking care of yourself, lay off the reading and focus on your health."
She turned her head to look at him, her hair falling over her shoulders, and raised a sharp eyebrow, her mouth pulled downwards, "maybe you should do it as well...before you start advicing me. It's not like your top notch in the health area."
"You really need to learn how to just shut up." He lifted her chin slightly before kissing her. It was only a short kiss and somewhat of a way to help change subjects. He didn't wanna get into why he was taking care of himself. In all honest, Julian was probably skipping just as many meals as her and probably looked just as skinny. "I'll come back later if you want." He voiced, pulling on his shoes and throwing his shirt on before walking over to the door.
She watched him go as she pulled on a bra, watching him through her eyelashes, "if you want too...I guess. I don't mind," she replied. "What classes do you have today?" She asked, out of curiousity. She might have been avoiding him but she'd heard he'd been skipping.
"Just Lunar class today... doesn't matter though, i haven't been going." He responded, reaching for the nob and twisting it open. "Not that you really care though... Right?" Julian voiced before looking back with a small smile.
"I know you haven't been going, idiot," she snapped with a huff, "I'm not deaf. You should go. It's important."
"Yeah yeah." He waved before walking out of her room, the smile still on his face as he thought of the idea that somewhere deep down - Elle still cared. "See you tonight."
She frowned, her forehead creasing, and yelled back, "what's happening tonight!?"
It had finally happened, Diana had finally kissed Liam and there feeling was now out in the open. Whether they were together or not was still a question she'd have to ask Liam later on. For now, though, Diana had made her way into Elle's dorm and stood at the door to her bedroom - knocking only slightly. "Hey Elle can i come in, it's me Diana."
She flew out of the room, shoving past Diana, "sure you can, I won't be there though," she called over her shoulder. She had a folder in her arms but that was it. She didn't realize Diana had been outside, by chance that she'd opened the door so quickly, but she went with it. Julian now Diana? What did she do to deserve this? Diana was so much harder to push away. Maybe it was something in her face, some vile innocence that made Elle pause. Julian, on the other hand, was free game.
Diana huffed, following after Elle. "I hope you're going to get something to eat." She stated. Julian was right, Elle wasn't looking well. Dam she was gone for a couple weeks to focus on classes and Elle goes does this.
She scowled at the comment, her grip on the book tightening, her stomach furthering its transformation into a rock. "I'm going to the library," she muttered, "if you're hungry I can give you the directions to a cafe nearby? I went yesterday. It had really good pies."
"St-Stop avoiding me!" Diana shouted, though it wasn't that loud, and grabbed Elle's arm to attempt to stop her from walking. "I can understand avoiding Julian but, me Elle. Really?" Maybe it was just bad timing that Diana had shown up and Elle was leaving somewhere but, she couldn't help but feel hurt.
She stumbled to a stop, "Ow," she mumbled, frowning at Diana's hand, trying to shake it off. "I'm not avoiding you...just thought you might have been hungry...and who said anything about Julian?"
She wasn't sure how to talk to Elle. Was she supposed to force her to eat? Elle would never admit she had been skipping a meal so it wouldn't work anyways, she was just as stubborn as Julian. "Nothing nevermind what I said... I just want to make sure you're alright."
"Of course I'm alright," she said, giving her a one-sided smile, as if it should have been obvious, and pressed her fingers to Diana's cheek, "always am. Now seriously, it's kind of cold out here."
"If your feeling ok then come out to eat with me." Diana stated, watching Elle. "I could really use the company..."
Her stomach shrunk at the thought, but her smile didn't leave her face and her hand drifted off, "of course, of course, I'll do that," she said, "would have thought there'd be better company though, I'm told I could be rather blunt," she mused, "come on...have a place in mind?"
"You are but, your the only friend i have beside Liam and even he's not a friend anymore" She smiled, before grabbing Elle's arm and leading her through the halls. "I was thinking just the cafeteria. We could always go out somewhere else though."
"Have you finally slept together?" She asked, "about damn time." She frowned when she felt Diana's hand reach easily around her arm, dragging her to wherever, "no, the cafeteria's fine, it's cheap."
"Shut up" She chuckled while softly nudging elle. "What about you and Julian, would have thought by now you guys would have done something." Diana asked with a raised eyebrow. Julian had never asked her to talk to Elle before, hell he barley showed he cared so, she figured something had happened between the two recently.
She bit her cheek, hiding a reaction, and shook her head. "Nah, we've barely seen each other," she said with a shrug. "Not my problem, though."
"You can't really blame him though, i mean he's the total bad boy package." Diana stated before pausing for a bit. "Must be why you like him so much, someone for you to figure out."
She sighed, "maybe that's why did like him. I liked the mystery," she murmured, "who knows. Still, enough about Julian. What do you want?" She asked, looking at the menu, having arrived in the cafeteria.
She raised an eyebrow at the question. "I just suggested we get both a hamburger and a sandwich, both having meat and you think i'm a vegetarian?" Diana smiled, shaking her head. "No i'm not." She added on with a small chuckle before walking up and ordering the sub.
Oh. Right. Whoops. Her mind was kind of whithering away, so sue her, she wasn't as perceptive as she once was. She followed, looking at the people in the room.
She watched Elle for a moment, watching to see her eat. Upon seeing the small bite, Diana only internally sighed. "Should help a friend out, catching up isn't so easy for me." Diana smiled before taking a bite of her sandwich.
"You'll have to pay me, I don't tutor for free," she pointed out, eventually finishing the food, and tore some of the sandwiche off before throwing it into her mouth, "but I can lend you notes."
"Deal" Diana voiced, her frown morphing from a frown to a smile. "Bet you'd give julian 100% off if he asked..." The lunar duchess teased before stuffing her mouth with chips.
"I only give you a discount cause you'd try, I'd double the price if he asked cause I most likely would be doing everything for him anyway," she muttered, swishing the chips around with her index finger. If it was a salad, swishing it around would have made it look like she ate, she thought, before throwing a small one into her mouth. "And yes, I know that was a insinuation."
"That's true." Diana agreed, giving her a small smile before gesturing to her sandwich. "eat up, were not leaving until you've eaten it all." She also gestured to the chip. "And stop that, your break them all up.
She narrowed her eyes, "has Julian talked to you? He was all paranoid about me 'not eating' which is ridiculous, by the way. And you're the hungry one."
"No he didn't" She lied, not wanting Elle to get angry. "Have you forgotten i was the one to force you to eat the first time, i can tell when you haven't been eating." Diana noted, not trying to pressure Elle or annoy her, more like casually mentioning it.
She sighed, looking at the people around them, "I'm not that thin," she muttered, "why is it that when I went into that quest, I was one of the best liars in this place but now...I can barely get away with saying I had breakfast." On the other hand, she as also quite good at telling when others were lying to her but she was too tired to press. Didn't want to know either.
"Well that's kinda what happens when you make friends Elle, whether you like it or not." While saying this she bites into her sandwich and chewed it, swallowing the pieces before speaking up again. "Doesn't matter though, if you don't wanna eat that's fine, just promise you'll take better care of yourself."
"I don't even know what better care of myself is," she snorted taking another chip, chewing it slowly, "so I can't promise you that." She rubbed her eyes, not familiar with the sensation of not being tired. "Can I tell you something?"
Diana began to cough, having had some chips in her mouth when hearing the news. "Oh my god what?" She coughed out, holding her mouth. "You realize you just out shined my kiss with Liam." The duchess grinned. "why though? Didn't you just say you guys hardly talk?"
She looked up grinning without humour, "guess I haven't lost my touch after all and...we didn't. Talk, that is. It's not like we were discussing, I don't know, maths during any of it." She stopped grinning and shrugged, "and it wasn't romantic or anything. It was just sex."
"Not to rain on your parade or anything but, are you sure that's how Julian sees it?" She asked, her coughing finally faltering to a stop. "Is that really how you see it? As just sex?"
She narrowed her eyes, "he better see it as just sex or things are going to get real awkward," she said, "I only slept with him to distract myself," she breathed out before rubbing her face with her hands. "God, he better just see it as sex."
"Elle..." Diana voiced, pausing for a while - wondering if she should voice her thoughts. "I know you'v been through a lot but, you shouldn't be using Julian as a distraction." She forced out, hoping Elle wouldn't get angry with her. "I just mean, Julian really seems to like you and if you're just using him then... like you said, things are gonna get really awkward."
"I didn't mean to...he just turned up at my door at four in the morning and...it got out of hand," she mumbled, taking a large bit out of the roll, trying to lengthen the time where she doesn't have to talk about it, "and I don't get why he would like me. I'm stubborn, harsh, cruel, selfish. He wouldn't be happy with me."
"There are much worse things in Julian's life than a Stubborn, harsh, and selfish girl... If anything, you'd be the only good thing in his life." Diana answered, remembering growing up around Julian when she was young and seeing how his father had treated him.
"There are worse things in mine..." she said before taking a deep breath, feeling tears sting the back of her eyes as her thoughts took a turn, "have I ever told you about my father?"
Though she might have been looking at Elle with kind eyes, Diana was actually a bit shocked to hear those words escape Elle's mouth - It wasn't something She had ever heard from Elle. "I can't tell you what to do, it's not like you would even listen if i did... you're stubborn like that." The duchess paused while sending Elle a small smile. "But for what it's worth, i wouldn't want you to leave, your basically my only friend here besides will. though he doesn't really count."
Will? Oh, Liam. "He definitely doesn't count-I hope you know that if he hurts you, I'm going to be kicking his ass," she pointed out before biting her lip, "I don't think I want to but...I don't know, I feel like I'm just a burden on this place."
Diana felt a pinch of annoyance, she hated when Elle talked like that. "Your not a burden, and besides, if you leave because you feel like a burden... then i'll kick your ass." She frowned. "Now, if you wanna leave for other reasons, like seeing your father. then that's different."
"I'd like to see you try-" she cut off as the realisation dawned on her. Diana probably could. Elle had lost a lot of muscle. "Let me gain the weight back then try kicking my ass. You won't succeed. But anyway, maybe I'll visit. For an hour. Then run away again."
"Don't see the point in that. Just make things harder for yourself." Diana noted, her eye's resting on Elle. "Think you should give it time, let yourself heal from past events..." She said this carefully, not wanting to anger or trigger Elle. "gain that weight you were talking about, don't think i haven't noticed the single tiny bit you took of your sandwich and the tiny chips you kept pulling out."
"Should stop treating me like I'm fragile glass, I'm not," she pointed out and threw another chip in her mouth, "excuse me if I don't wolf down food like you do. I take my time."
"No body takes that much time to eat, we've been here almost an hour already." Diana argued but, she sighed, deciding to let it go. "Whatever, save it for later, throw it out, do whatever you want." Diana frowned at Elle.
She winked, "I always do," she said, taking another bite, feeling slightly guilty now.
She watched as Elle took a bite of her food, slightly satisfied now - gad her quilt plan work somewhat. it was then that she looked at her phone and saw the time, almost time to meet up with Will again. "Hey, what do you think i should talk to liam about? Besides the quest i don't think we have anything else to talk about."
"You know, you dating him isn't going to last long if you can't even think of conversation during the honeymoon stage," she pointed out.
"Well that was no help, anyways, i promised i'd meet up with him in a bit." Diana stated as she moved out of her seat and stood up. "I'll talk to you later?" She asked, throwing her garbage into a nearby can and waiting for Elle's response.
She shrugged, "most likely," she replied, "class, probably. Now shoo, and use protection, please."
Her faced turned a deep red at the mention of protection, her mind going to other thoughts related to it. "Shut up..." She voiced in a small embarrassed tone as she turned around and began walking away.
OOC:Can you do the timeskip now, to idk where
She was in the library, EarPods stuffed into her ear, as she tried to read but the words weren't registering.
He hadn't exactly been looking for Elle but, Julian wandered into the library and spotted her. His intentions for being there had to do with classes and a dumb book report he had to make up, of course they might have changed when he spotted Elle. With a small smile he walked up behind her, leaned over her, moved her hair aside, kissing her neck. "Hey." He said into her ear before seeing the earbuds and realizing she might not have heard him.
She flinched as she felt someone come up behind her, not realising it was Julian, and pulled to the side, whipping the EarPods out of her ear, and blinked at Julian, her beating heart taking a moment to calm down. She blinked, "oh, hey," she said.
A slight smirk came across his face as he walked around her chair and to another one across from her, plopping himself into it. "SO, what boring book you reading now?" He asked, not out of curiosity but, really just trying to make small talk.
"How to deal with royal asses," she recited before flicking the book to show him the cover, "some book on physics."
"Hmmm, maybe i should read the book. Definitely have a few royal asses in my family." Julian smiled, though it was a sarcastic fake one.
She nodded back, just as sarcastic, "oh definitely, I could point out a few if you wanted."
"Please do, it'd be refreshing to hear someone point out the royal families flaws instead of worshiping them like gods." Julian smirked, letting his arms lie loosely on the arms of the chair and his body leaning deep into it.
She raised an eyebrow at him, "well, there's currently one sitting across from me," she said, innocently, "bit of pompous ass if you ask me."
His eye's widened and he grinned. "You really think so?" He asked with a small pause. "I try very hard to keep up my pompous ass reputation so, thank you." Julian joked.
"I'm glad to be of aid," she replied with a roll of her eyes, "what are you even doing in the library? It's not like you read."
She tilted her head, snapping the book shut, "sister? I didn't know you had a sister."
His mind went blank. All he could do was stare at Elle, trying to think of something to say. "..." He opened his mouth to say something but, again, nothing came out. "Well of course i do, all royal families have multiple kids." He smiled casually, mentally sighing.
"Oh right," she said before blinking a few times, "oh, yeah, what's her face. Jessamine? She left, though, didn't she?"
He gave a soft shrug, give little effort to think about where Jess had gone to. "Think she went off to another school to study for something." Julian answered. "I can't really remember." He smiled before deciding to return the question. "Did you ever tell me if you had sibings, can't remember that either, ma memory and all."
She paused. Most of the quest now as one big blur, her memory not bothering to remember the exacts. "I think we did mention it...I don't know, I could, but I don't know," she said with a shrug, "I haven't really met either of my birth parents."
"Oh now i remember." He voiced, remembering she had told him once upon a time. "Have you ever thought to look for them?"
She hesitated before shaking her head, "I have my birth mother's name in a letter somewhere in my room. I never bothered opening it and I don't even think she knows who my father is. But...well, I don't really care for her."
"I can understand, My parent only see me as a way for their rule to live on after death, nothing else." He stayed quiet for a moment. He knew exactly why his parents didn't care for them anymore but, he wasn't exactly going to say it out loud. "Can't say i care for them much either." He smiled gently, as if the subject meant nothing to him.
"I'm sorry," she said softly, "if it's anything...they don't see what they have."
