I was sitting in the kitchen, going over the surveillance tapes and information to see if my hunch was correct. Eventually, I chuckle softly, before I notice Elle and her expression. "Are you okay Elle? It looks like you didn't have a great day at the office."
She turned around to send her best death glare-which has been known to scare even the biggest man alive-to Eliza, "one more word and I'll throw this cup at you." She threatened.
"I can imagine. But Elle, can you come here for a minute? I need to talk to you."
Julian entered the room just in time to notice Elle's expression and hear her words. "Someone had a bad day..." Julian said just as he walked in and walked over to the coffee machine and surving himself a cup - ignoring any glares Elle may have sent towards him.
"For sure. Remember the man you accompanied to the interrogation? I think he's a member of the Cult. He got his record wiped clean by Katherine, a woman he said that forced him to do her bidding. The exactly same one in the Cult. On the scene, there were three set of prints - the boy's and Mr. Romanov's for sure, but the third wasn't so noticeable, until I noticed the elemental trace in them, and they only had one match - Katherine."
She frowned as she listened to this, "how would they have Katherine's prints?" She replied before tapping on the bench, "can we track her?"
"That unto itself will be a process, but I think that it could be possible. Just means a long night, and a lot of coffee." I say as I close my laptop and pack up, before heading up to the master spa room
"Go bring your boyfriend down, will you? All of us need to talk to him," she called after her before going back over to the machine, "how was your day?" She asked to both Julian and Diana.
"Ah, spit, you gallied me, Eleanor. Spit?" He arched an eyebrow as he smiled by the side to Elle with a dimple on his cheek.
"With our jobs, we'd be sending Diana and Liam to go check out Charles," she replied, "but since your connection with him, would you rather take a break from the job tomorrow and tag along in place of one of them?"
"If I could do that, it would be awesome. I could definitely switch places. Diana I feel should be better at this than me so I suppose I should change places with her? If that's okay with Diana, that is."
Her fingers tapped the counter as she poured the milk into the tin cup to steam, "so you'd be with Liam?"
He analyzed the situation for half a second before he nodded, "yeah, I believe that would be how it works."
"Roger," she began before giving him a hard look, "I'm only suggesting you go because of your familiarity with him. Screw up with him like you did today..." she left it hanging before warning him, "do not dare let your emotions get in your way."
Roger strutted down the stairs in a formal attire with a navy blue vest over his dress shirt and a trench coat on top of the vest. He had removed the glasses for the day as he wouldn't be an attorney for the time being. He looked at Liam, "So shall we get going?" he then turned to face Eliza and pecked her on her cheek.
"Also, I was recruited to this team as well. Apparently, Elle thinks that you three need a little...law enforcement." I say, wearing a peacoat, with a patterned purple sleeveless blazer over a black t-shirt, wearing straight black jeans and knee high boots, keeping my police badge on me, along with my holstered gun.
"I know you can, but the visit, this could turn out to be what we didn't expect, and well, Elle agreed that the researchers needed some backup, so you guys can investigate, and if we get unexpected company, then they'll meet me."
He thought briefly back to the amount of drinks he had and then the black pit that was his memories. For a moment, he acknowledged his pounding head before shaking his head, "whatever," he grumbled before swinging the door open, "let's get this over with."
"Well, I still have my license. I held on to it when Elle was almost kidnapped yesterday so it didn't get burned with the car explosion. I guess I should drive just in case? Unless you really want to? I wouldn't mind."
"So. It's been really long since I've been here in Moscow, and I don't know where he should or could be. " Roger said as he ignited the fuel and started the engine, shifting into position and moving the rearview mirror until it was in its right placement. "Buckle yourselves," he continued as he did so himself, read to start driving.
"You can be really lazy, you know, right?" He arched an eyebrow to the rearview mirror so that Liam could receive the expressive message by looking into it. Funny. Reminds me of- he returned his focus to the wheel as a guy in front of him almost made them crash. Roger honked at him and managed to avoid any collision between them.
In truth, he was in a sour mood. Before he had figured he could manage to convince Diana to keep watch whilst he conversed with Charles but with the two of them, he'd have to settle with keeping watch himself. "Oh, I am very positive. My lovely attitude just reaffirms that, don't you think?"
"And I think both of you are getting a bit caught up in this," he said rather coldly, "he's a soldier of the academy foremost, he's not a lawyer. Not really," he replied and pulled out a dagger he kept in his boot, "he can have this."
He glanced over at Eliza and watched her put it away, "is that the plan?" He asked, "you use your feminine charms to tell him everything he knows? If so, you're right, it wouldn't work if he believed you are married."
I couldn't help but laugh. "Liam, you are ridiculous! First of all, the only person who deserves my feminine charm is Roger. Secondly, the ring is part of being Detective Pavlov, not me, so it would be awkward if I had to bust in, then someone would have to explain everything, giving a chance that the mission could be blown."
"I am not raising false hope, William." His eyes widened as he said the name. Somehow it fit perfectly but it also felt out of place. Deciding to ignore it, he announced "I am just pointing out a possibility. Also, we're now here." He parked in an empty spot and looked at them.
He thought through hundreds of reasons why he shouldn't go in there but with each thought that came, something disproved it. Closing his mouth, he stared at Roger before lettting his knuckles rap at the door.
